2008 · Founded
One of the first specialist AWS-adoption consulting companies — before most enterprises had heard of AWS.
Mactores was founded as one of the first specialist AWS-adoption consulting companies. AWS was still a small business inside Amazon at the time. Betting the practice on it was a conviction call: enterprise IT was going to run on public cloud, and the firm that built cloud-native delivery from the ground up would eventually outrun the firms retrofitting cloud onto their existing SI models. That conviction held.
2015 · Validation
AWS validated the practice with Advanced Tier and the first Consulting Competency.
7 years in, AWS validated the practice. Mactores became an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner and earned the Big Data Competency — the first of the 7 Consulting Competencies the firm holds today. The Big Data Competency mattered because it named what the practice had already become: the AWS modernization shop that customers came to when the workload was data-heavy and had to reach production.
2016 · The Thesis
The 60-to-70 percent that seeded Aedeon.
By 2016 the pattern had crystallized. Every migration the practice ran repeated the same 60 to 70 percent of analyst work — source discovery, schema mapping, dependency analysis, validation harnesses, cutover instrumentation. Mactores made a decision that shaped the next decade: automate the repeat work, keep the judgment work for senior engineers. That decision seeded what would eventually become Aedeon.

2020 · Speed
Oracle, Hadoop, and legacy data warehouses cut over in weeks, not quarters.
The automation investment paid out in speed. By 2020, Mactores was delivering the fastest data platform and database migrations to AWS in the practice's segment — Oracle, Hadoop, and legacy data warehouses cut over in weeks rather than quarters, on production workloads customers could not afford to pause. The named-customer proof from this era — Synaptics, Flipboard, Poshmark — is the case-study base the current site is built on.

The automation the practice had been building since 2016 becomes its own company.
The automation the practice had been building since 2016 grew into a product. In 2025 the founders launched Aedeon as a separate company — an agent-native platform that runs end-to-end migration and modernization: discovery, mapping, validation, observability, cutover instrumentation, and increasingly, the agentic decisioning that runs against the migrated data. Mactores was Aedeon's launch customer and continues to deploy Aedeon on every engagement.

In 2026 Mactores was promoted to AWS Premier Tier Services Partner — the highest tier in the AWS Partner Network. In the same year, the firm formalized the delivery model that carries every engagement forward: Forward-Deployed Engineers paired with Aedeon. Aedeon absorbs the 60 to 70 percent of analyst work the 2016 thesis identified. Forward-Deployed Engineers own architecture, cutover, and customer-signed acceptance. The contract carries the delivery date. That combination is the agent-native AWS modernization firm the eighteen-year arc was building toward.
