A healthcare data foundation that holds up to HIPAA — and supports the next agentic initiative.

Healthcare data modernization is constrained by HIPAA at every layer. Each new pipeline is a new audit surface. Manual DataOps makes the audit overhead unsustainable. Agent-native delivery built the foundation: Aedeon ran the discovery and the audit-evidence capture; FDEs owned the HIPAA-aligned architecture and the cutover. The foundation now supports the next agentic initiative without a separate audit project to enable it.

Data PlatformHCLS

Baseline

Legacy healthcare data infrastructure · manual DataOps · audit overhead per pipeline.

Outcome with Mactores

Cloud-native AWS data platform · DataOps automated · HIPAA-defensible by construction.

The Challenge · 01

HIPAA overhead was eating the data team’s capacity.

Healthcare data modernization is constrained by HIPAA at every layer. Each new pipeline is a new audit surface. Manual DataOps made the audit overhead unsustainable — the data team was spending more time on audit work than on the analytics work the business needed.

A traditional SI engagement would have built the platform and left the audit overhead in place; the data team would still have been the bottleneck.

How We Delivered · 02

Aedeon automated DataOps and audit-evidence capture. FDEs owned the HIPAA architecture.

Aedeon built the data platform with DataOps automated through to production — and with audit evidence captured at every pipeline boundary as a property of the running system. The audit overhead that was consuming the data team’s capacity moved from manual workstreams to system-level properties.

Forward-deployed engineers owned the HIPAA-aligned architecture and the cutover with the healthcare team. The platform that landed is the substrate the next agentic initiative — claims intelligence, clinical decision support — can run against without a separate compliance project.

Compliance

HIPAA, HITRUST aligned. PHI handling captured at ingestion. Audit evidence available on review.

Why This Matters · 03

A foundation the next initiative can run against — without re-running compliance.

Most healthcare data foundations get built for the analytical use case at hand and require a fresh compliance project for every new initiative.

Agent-native delivery builds the foundation so the audit evidence is structural — the next agentic platform can run against the same data with the same audit defensibility, without re-running the compliance work.

A foundation HIPAA signs off on — and that the next agentic initiative can run against.
